Monodesign interior architecture office is located on the ground floor of an apartment, located in one of a woodland street of Alsancak district, the center area of Izmir. 80 m2 office was used as a residence before it was restored.
Before the design was started, the functions and needs were analyzed very well and it was aimed at creating a placement construct that would reveal the best potential of this small scale area. The office is generally composed of 5 volumes. These volumes are entrance area (exhibition area, cloakroom, WC and material bookcase), meeting area, kitchenette area, executive office and a room designed as collective work. Differences in floor materials, semi-open metal separators, and glass walls played an important role in defining the boundaries of these volumes. That transitions among volumes were on-stream and transparent was paid attention. For the office, it was elaborated that the designers kept in touch with each other, but at the same time, their private spheres were defined. Kitchenette section, which is positioned in the center of the office, together with island bench and bookshelf, has become a common area where the employees can both take a break and exchange ideas and leaf through the magazines or books. This section has become the common point of design room, executive room and the meeting room, which has actually become a comfortable mini assembly area in itself.
The idea of being unique and genuine, which forms the name and philosophy of Monodesign interior architecture, was also reflected in the space. All furniture from work tables to coffee tables and separators were customized-produced. The choices of materials were blended with balance together with natural materials such as massive oak, marble and industrial materials such as dyed metals, bronze lamps, and acrylic. As lighting equipment, Foscarini and Artemide brand lighting armatures were also used as well as custom-engineered metal and bronze lighting. As a result of color and texture study in conformity with design conducted, space was composed of blending natural oak color and industrial grey tones and bronze. Warm vivid tones found a place for themselves as tiny stains on critical points for the space such as red refrigerator used in Kitchenette area, orange table lamp in an executive room and damson mobile beanbag chair or custom-made yellow lighting on the collective work table.
Thanks to the positioning of spaces and transparency, a commodious, unique and stylish office area has emerged, which is compact but at the same time, satisfies all needs.
